Chasing the Unseen: A Race Without a Finish Line

I began running that day, chasing after something I couldn't even define for myself. It was radiant and captivating, racing past me with an allure that urged me to pursue it.

Whatever it was, it seemed so precious that I believed if I could just obtain it, my life would be forever transformed.

Without much hesitation, I sprinted after it.

I ran and ran, convinced that I would soon capture it. But as time went by, days turned into weeks, and I found myself unable to catch up.

Just when my hope started to wane and thoughts of giving up crept in, it would suddenly reappear, tantalizingly close—seemingly within my grasp. Fueled by renewed determination, I would pour every ounce of energy into chasing it down.

At first, I was alone in my pursuit. But as time elapsed, I noticed others also in pursuit of the same elusive goal. And before long, their numbers multiplied—starting with a few, then hundreds, thousands, millions, and eventually billions.

I once had ample space around me, a place to halt and reconsider my chase. However, with billions of people now surrounding me, there's no room to stop. Stopping would risk being trampled to death in the stampede.

I continue running now, not for the original objective, but to match the pace of the multitude.

I run not to seize that elusive thing, but to ensure I don't fall behind.

I run to keep from being swept away by the current of the crowd, to avoid being left behind, crushed beneath the weight of this relentless pursuit.
